OVER THE LAST YEAR OR TWO…..
Sunday, March 30th, 2008After the recent heavy weight regime of painting we have undertaken i got to thinking about a few of my favourites that i had dropped that were perhaps being overlooked or beginning to be forgotten. A lot of our pieces and pictures weren’t included on the flickr or on our all new website so thought i might have a quick look back. I’m really not one of those writers that dwells on the past but every now and then its cool to fill in a few gaps and see how all the dots join together..
Certain days stick in your head..

AROE ANIE SEEN & ODISY
middle street Brighton, The whole day was a bit surreal but special respects go out to GARY for a lot of help on the background and NOPE from australia that felt it right to do a trolley dash out of the asda in the marina then walk all of his scrumped bounty about two miles to hang out..
kings destroy..

COPE2 AROE & JANO.
The pit London, certain UK egos were out of control on this occasion so i’ve omitted their part of the wall. It was absolutely pouring down but we soldiered on regardless..
Sleeping giants..

AROE & RIME.
Brighton, RIME is a don, try dropping a piece next to a dude that understands every line and colour combination before its even started, he might be one of the most natural graffiti writers i’ve ever met. He might also be one of the best writers in the world..
Ice jeezy & A freezy..

AROE & JIROE.
Lakeside Essex, Although we also painted with the one like INTRO the pics just looked better like this, not say his piece wasn’t nice it certainly was.. JIROE is one of my favourite writers in the world..
WHITE OUTLINES… not scared too white.

Tarnerland Brighton/ West London.
The bottom piece painted with jano (not shown) is a personal favourite as i usually have a weird thing about ‘white’ outlines and i have no real clue why? the top piece was another shift towards what i’m doing at the moment.
EXCHANGER

AROE sketch by JIROE.
Tarnerland Brighton, like i said a few lines before JIROE is a fav of mine so when he dropped a sketch of my name in my book i thought it’d be nice to have a go at putting it up. this is a while before i was involved in RIMES the EXCHANGE project..
Initially i wasn’t that happy with how it looked but after i started hacking into it with the cuts and chops it took on some new type of vibe that i ended up being very happy with.
BACK LIKE COOKED CRACK..

ATCH & AROE.
Ashford, ATCH was one of my writing partners from the 80’s so when we hooked up again after his near twenty year hiatus it was nice to bless our old stomping ground.
this is one of the first pieces i did where the outline changed colour (a trick i have never claimed to have invented) but certainly this was a big step in experimenting with the idea of switching the fill and outline at random which i frequently do now.
THE CHARACTERS.

AROE B BOYS.
Some people like them some people hate them, i like them. They’re basically my interpretation of the most stereotypical b boy character that you could think of. Ultimately i want them to look like they’ve been peeled of a New York subway car from the early 80’s just a few tricks to bring them up to date. They are always in profile looking either at my piece or away from it.. STANDARD..
